Study Group “Cavalli and 17th-Century Venetian Opera”

The main purpose of the different meetings has been to discuss and work on the critical edition of the complete operas of Francesco Cavalli, published by Bärenreiter. The first volume, La Calisto, edited by Álvaro Torrente (music) and Nicola Badolato (text), was presented in Rome on July 3, 2012. In keeping with our interest in scheduling meetings of the IMS Study Group in conjunction with major Cavalli performances in Europe and the United States.
