Regional Association for the Study of Music of the Balkans (RASMB)

The mission of the IMS Regional Association for the Study of Music of the Balkans (RASMB) is to disseminate musicological research from the Balkans, through international conferences and corresponding publications, which aim at covering various aspects of music culture in the Balkans, and, thereby, at boosting interdisciplinary and intercultural considerations of the theoretical issues arising from both the similarities and differences among the complex and inspiring Balkan musical and musicological milieux. The regional association was founded by Tilman Seebass and Sokol Shupo at an international conference in Durrës, Albania, September 29 to October 1, 2006.
