Access Information
When the IMS websites are invoked, access information such as IP addresses, dates and times, browser requests, generally transmitted information on the operating system and browser, etc. are recorded and stored in server log files. This information is collected anonymously and we use the information solely for statistical purposes and to ensure the proper functioning of the websites. We store the server log files until they are automatically deleted after twelve months at the latest. The IMS websites contain various input forms (membership forms, event registrations, etc.) with which you can voluntarily provide us with personal information. The same applies if personal information is transmitted not via the input form, but via the email address provided for this purpose on the respective IMS website. A secure connection featuring SSL encryption is automatically invoked when using the input forms, which renders data transmitted online illegible by third parties. The transmission of confidential or personal information by email is at the sender’s risk.
Collection, Usage, and Storage of Personal Data
The IMS collects and processes personal data (name, email address, postal address, credit card information, bank accounts, etc.) when you
- sign up for or renew an IMS membership;
- make a donation to the IMS;
- purchase one of our products (publications, etc.);
- register online for any of our services and/or events;
- use or view our website via your browser’s cookies.
The IMS collects your data so that we can
- process and manage your membership and membership account;
- send you emails with news about IMS-related events, publications, etc., as well as regarding your membership.
When the IMS processes your membership application/renewal, order, etc., we may send your data to, and also use the resulting information from, credit reference agencies to prevent fraudulent purchases. Credit card and/or bank information data is not stored on our websites or servers and will be deleted immediately as soon as a payment has been successfully processed.

Photography/Videography
Attendance at events hosted by or under the auspices of the IMS may be recorded through photographs and/or video recordings. Images and/or videos may be used on the IMS website and social media channels, in publications, and for other means of dissemination to advance the aims and objectives of our society. If you do not wish your images and/or videos to be published, you should notify the event organizers prior to or immediately after the event. The IMS does its best to make sure that everyone being photographed and/or videographed is aware of the situation and has the opportunity to decline participation. If you find an image and/or video of yourself that you would like to have removed from the IMS dissemination platforms, please contact us and we will take care of it immediately.
